SERP stands for Search Engine Ranking Position. This SERP is dependent on the search phrase used and is the position on the search engine results page that the site of interest occupies for the particular search phrase.
This is in addition to the more traditional on-site and off-site ranking factors,Google's Page rank is believed to be a component in the ranking. However, these are not the be-all and end-all of search ranking on Google. The algorithms are changing and the following are becoming more important in the ranking algorithm:
- Conversion rate: the percentage of visitors to your site who convert (buy something, fill out a form, etc.).
- Bounce rate: the percentage of visits to your site who leave your site immediately.
- Clickthrough rate: how often people click on your site out of all the times your site gets shown in search results.
