Article Spinning - the practice of putting the same article (or a slightly modified version of this article) on a large number of sites.  

Quality is more important than Quantity when it comes to writing articles for promoting a web presence. Therefore, it is better to write one good and relevant article and put this on a respected site or on your own site and then promote this article; than it is to resort to the practice of spinning. Google claims to have the technology to be able to identify spun articles and to block these from their search results.
